The Mira Loma Arcade Creek Project was a research project self-conducted by 400 students per year (juniors and seniors) from Mira Loma High School from 1997 until 2019. It consisted of 11 studies: Outreach, Tech, Bio assessment, Bio assay, Chemistry, Botany, Vertebrates, Restoration, Habitat, Long Mapping, and Sediment. 

I was on the Outreach Team, which was divided into 3 groups: Grants, Events, and School Talks. I was the Events manager, but I did multiple school talks during my time there. For our school talks, we developed curriculum based on conservation around the Arcade Creek and presented it at local schools. 

For events, there were 5 main events that happened throughout the year. Our job was to set up a booth and be the face of the project to the Sacramento community. We educated people about our work and taught modules about the environment, specifically using our watershed model. Our goal was to make our project known and represent our fellow students and their hard work. 

During my senior year, the second to last year of the project (it was ended due to funding issues, sadly), my good friend Jierel Almario created a documentary about it. This documentary aired at the iMAX theater in downtown Sacramento, as well as multiple film festivals across the country.
